Freddy #15

A delightful slice of early-1960s Charlton charm, this Blue Bird Comics edition of Freddy #15 features a cover by Jon D'Agostino where the title character blows a trumpet with gleeful abandon, sending a cascade of soap bubbles into the air while an exasperated conductor waves a baton and scolds him to "stop that clowning and play that song!" Rounding out the bottom of the cover are circular vignettes spotlighting the supporting cast sharing this 12-cent package: Black Fury, Wyatt Earp, Timmy the Timid Ghost, Li'l Genius, and Atomic Mouse. Presented by Schiff's Shoes and bearing the Comics Code seal, it's a cheerful, lighthearted 1962 read with plenty of comedic energy to spare.
