“Sing Me a Car Tune”

A perfectly charming slice of early-1960s teen humor: the cover by Jon D'Agostino drops Freddy into a winter ice-skating scene where a cheerful blonde girl rhapsodizes about the "invigorating cold weather" while a thoroughly frozen Freddy can only chatter his teeth in miserable agreement. Rounding out the cover are five circular vignettes teasing the other features inside — Black Fury, Wyatt Earp, Timmy the Timid Ghost, Li'l Genius, and Atomic Mouse — making this Schiff's Shoes–presented Blue Bird Comics edition a genuinely fun sampler of Charlton's 1961 lineup.
