Freak Force #1

Image Comics relaunched Freak Force in 1997 with this energetic first issue, written by Erik Larsen and Eric Stephenson with cover art by Andy Kuhn. The cover thrusts the team front and center — a blue-and-red masked hero leads the charge, flanked by a flame-wreathed woman with white-streaked hair, a massive armored brute, and several other colorful teammates surging through a burning urban street. It's a confident, crowd-pleasing introduction to one of Image's more eclectic super-teams, rendered with Kuhn's bold, kinetic linework.
