Frankenstein, Agent of S.H.A.D.E. #13

Part of the 2012 New 52 crossover "Rotworld: Secrets of the Dead," this issue plunges Frankenstein deep into a nightmare of decay and corruption. The cover by Alberto Ponticelli and Wayne Faucher is a visceral tableau — Frankenstein himself is engulfed by writhing tentacles and swarming rot-creatures, while a glowing-eyed figure blazes with fire in the chaos above him, all set against a lurid red hellscape. Writer Matt Kindt teams with Ponticelli and inker Wayne Faucher to bring this gruesome corner of the New 52 to life in a way that's genuinely hard to look away from.
