“A Cold and Lasting Tomb!”

The cover by Ron Wilson and Ernie Chua says it all: the Frankenstein Monster bursts free from a massive block of ice, fists raised and teeth bared, sending shards flying in every direction while a horrified crowd — including a screaming blonde woman, a barker in a bright pink suit, and panicked onlookers — scrambles to get clear. The tagline "Frozen in Ice for Half a Century, He Comes Alive…Today!" sets up a story ("A Cold and Lasting Tomb!") that promises a rude awakening for everyone present. Doug Moench and Val Mayerik deliver Marvel's take on the classic creature in full 1974 form, and this issue looks like a genuinely rousing chapter in the Monster's ongoing saga.
