Frank #1
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis volume collects the earliest adventures of Jim Woodring's wordless, surreal masterpiece, featuring the enigmatic Frank and his companions in the vividly hallucinatory world of the Unifactor. The stories showcase the debut of characters like Manhog, Pupshaw, and Whim, with Lucky adding to the bizarre, dreamlike narrative that defines this acclaimed series.
"Frank in The River" kicks off Jim Woodring’s surreal, dreamlike exploration of the eponymous character with a quiet, unsettling precision. As Frank tends his garden and drifts into a strange dream of being crushed by a tree, the line between reality and the uncanny blurs—leading him to a mysterious party at the House of Mystery, where the invitation itself feels like a portent. The full scope of the journey remains elusive, but Woodring’s distinctive, hand-drawn world—rendered in his own pencils, inks, and letters—anchors every page in a uniquely personal, off-kilter vision.
