“Love Me Forever!”

"Love Me Forever!" from Forbidden Worlds #24 (1953) delivers a chilling tale of obsession and cursed affection, penned by Ken Landau and illustrated by Ken Landau in a stark, expressive style. When the desperate Pierre Fabron turns to the gypsy witch Mamma Voudon for a love potion to win Roxanne—the most desired woman in the Bayou—he sets off a chain of events that spirals into horror. After Roxanne falls helplessly in love, Pierre’s regret turns to dread when her decaying body refuses to stay dead, driven by a love that refuses to die. The haunting cover by Ken Bald captures the story’s eerie, gothic mood, making this a standout entry in the series’ eerie anthology.

Pierre Fabron asks a gypsy witch named Mamma Voudon to concoct a love serum so he can use it on the popular and beautiful Roxanne. Roxanne is the most coveted woman in the Bayou but she wants nothing to do with Pierre. After he slips her the potion, she falls head over heels in love with him. After awhile Pierre gets sick of her smothering, and kills her. But her rotted corpse keeps coming for Pierre because of her undying love.
