"Big Bomber" follows Colonel John Brimley and his crew at Mogoda Airfield in northern Japan as they prepare to take the new Boeing B-52 bomber on a trial run, despite concerns about sending the untested aircraft into combat against Japanese forces. When Japanese pilot Inejiro Asunuma learns of the American plane's arrival, he devises a plan to prevent it from flying, and the B-52 embarks on a dangerous mission to bomb Berlin—the capital of Nazi Germany and the toughest target of them all. The story depicts the tension between command orders and the grave risks faced by the bomber crew as they attempt to complete their perilous assignment.
