The third volume of Willem Ritstier's Flip series arrives with a sun-drenched orange cover that perfectly captures the strip's playful energy — big-grinned Flip in his backwards red cap dominates the foreground, while a chaotic little cast of kids, a small dog, and a flying figure tumbling through the air round out "en de rest" (and the rest). Ritstier's loose, expressive linework gives every character a wonderfully rubbery personality, from the lovestruck duo near a football to the wide-eyed kid getting launched skyward. At 7,95 EUR, this 2016 Dutch gem is an easy invitation into a comic that clearly knows how to have fun.
