“Back on Track, Chapter Two: Friends and Lovers”

Three heroes hit the breaking point in this September 1993 team-up, as the cover — penciled by Alan Davis and inked by Mark Farmer — shows the Flash reeling backward through a shower of shattered debris while Starfire charges forward with energy crackling at her hands and Nightwing braces alongside her, all three caught mid-crisis against a burst of yellow-green energy. The banner proclaims "Nightwing and Starfire and Flash… Against the Combine!" promising a memorable three-way alliance under pressure. Mark Waid, Mike Wieringo, and José Marzán Jr. bring "Back on Track, Chapter Two: Friends and Lovers" to life in what looks like one of the more kinetic entries in this run.
