The Scarlet Speedster is down and in serious trouble on this January 1989 issue of Flash, its cover by Greg LaRocque and Larry Mahlstedt showing a masked, armored figure in a dark cape pinning Wally West to the ground and pressing a weapon against him — a genuinely tense image that earns the bold "Manhunted!" banner overhead. Tied into DC's Invasion crossover as an "Aftermath Extra," the issue continues "Invaded Lives, Part Two" with William Messner-Loebs writing and LaRocque on interior art as well. It's a compelling snapshot of a series that wasn't shy about putting its hero in real danger.
