Studios series presents a lone soldier in a long coat and military helmet, rifle raised and still smoking — a striking image of grim defiance. The Independents' insignia on his arm grounds this firmly in the Firefly 'verse, calling back to the Unification War that haunts so many of Joss Whedon's characters. With Greg Pak writing and Dan McDaid on interior art, issue #5 promises the kind of morally weighted storytelling that makes this corner of the 'verse so compelling.
