Feral #14
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeFeral #14 marks the pivotal moment when Elsie and her band of indoor cats finally breach the walls of Pet City — the abandoned pet supply superstore that has served as the series' tantalizing promised land since Arc Three ('Nine Lives') began with issue #11. Within that setting, the issue plants the narrative seeds for Pet City's most disturbing secret: an apparently idyllic refuge that conceals something deeply wrong, a structural tension that would define the remainder of this arc and the arc that follows. The issue also deepens the central Elsie-Gigi rivalry, the series' most emotionally loaded relationship, while reintroducing Elsie's prophetic visions as a long-game storytelling device. As part of a series that earned the American Library Association's Outstanding Comics Award for Young Adults Series Honor Book recognition in 2025, #14 represents the mid-arc highpoint of a run credited with demonstrating that all-ages-styled animal horror could sustain a genuinely serialized, morally complex ongoing narrative.

Feral launched in March 2024 from Image Comics as the follow-up to Tony Fleecs and Trish Forstner's breakout collaboration Stray Dogs (2021), deliberately set in the same shared universe. The creative team carried over from Stray Dogs — Fleecs writing, Forstner on pencils/inks, Tone Rodriguez on additional art, and Brad Simpson on colors — and brought with them the visual grammar of Disney-influenced character design filtered through survival-horror pacing. Issue #14, solicited in the April 2025 Previews catalog (code APR252702), arrived in shops on June 25, 2025, as the fourth chapter of Arc Three and was subsequently collected in Feral Trade Paperback Vol. 3, which shipped August 6, 2025. Fleecs has publicly noted that Arc Three contains some of his favorite moments across the entire run.

- According to TV Tropes and the Feral Fandom wiki, issue #14 begins to reveal that Pet City's feline colony harbors a dark secret: many females appear pregnant but no kittens are present, and new arrivals are warned about 'final punishments' — foreshadowing the cannibalistic colony dynamics fully revealed in issue #15.
- The issue also depicts the beginnings of the character Lucky's manipulation of both Gigi and Elsie — romantic entanglements that would later fracture the group's fragile solidarity.
- Feral takes place in the same shared universe as the creators' earlier series Stray Dogs (Image, 2021), a connection that becomes plot-relevant later in the run.
- The series earned the American Library Association Outstanding Comics Award for Young Adults Series Honor Book recognition in 2025, and has been translated into French.
