Feral #15
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeFeral #15 closes out the third arc of one of Image Comics' most creatively distinctive ongoing horror series of the 2020s — a book that fuses Don Bluth-influenced animation aesthetics with Walking Dead-style survival horror, told entirely from a feline point of view. As the capstone of the Pet City arc, the issue deepens the central cast's personal relationships (Elsie's secret romance, Gigi and Lucky's pairing) while still threading in the series' signature tension, making it a tonal pivot point before the even more confrontational fourth arc begins. The series it belongs to received an American Library Association Outstanding Comics Award for Young Adults Series Honor Book in 2025, lending Feral broader institutional recognition as a work of literary and cultural merit. The issue also inherits the narrative groundwork laid across issues #11–14 that would soon explode into the Battle for Pet City conflict — meaning #15 functions as a crucial dramatic hinge between two of the run's most memorable story beats.

Feral was created by Tony Fleecs and Trish Forstner, the same team behind the bestselling Image horror series Stray Dogs, with inks and covers by Tone Rodriguez and colors by Brad Simpson. The series launched in March 2024 and was structured from the outset in five-issue arcs, with #15 landing as the final chapter of arc three — a structure that allowed for clean trade-paperback collection cycles. Forstner, who came from IDW's My Little Pony work, brought a classic animation sensibility to the horror premise; Fleecs has noted publicly that arc three contains some of his personal favorite storytelling moments in the entire run. The shared-universe connection to Stray Dogs was a long-held creative secret the team protected carefully until it paid off in later arcs.

- Issue #15 is the fifth and final chapter of arc three, set entirely within the Pet City pet supply superstore location introduced earlier in the arc.
- The story advances two romantic subplots: Gigi's relationship with a cat named Lucky, and the revelation that Elsie has her own secret lover, the identity of whom is withheld as a dramatic hook.
- Lord Fluffy Britches's subplot involves his struggle to adapt to Pet City's social rules, foreshadowing the power-struggle conflict that explodes in arc four beginning with issue #16.
- Three cover editions were released: Cover A (Fleecs & Forstner), Cover B (Forstner & Allen Passalaqua variant), and Cover C (a 1:10 retailer incentive virgin variant by Fleecs). The Cover A is wordless; the variant homages the film The Exorcism of Emily Rose.

- The Feral series — of which this issue is a part — was named an American Library Association Outstanding Comics Award for Young Adults Series Honor Book (2025), and has been translated into French.
