Feral is the second creator-owned collaboration from writer Tony Fleecs and artist Trish Forstner, both veterans of IDW's My Little Pony line whose prior Image series Stray Dogs had sold close to one million copies across all formats before Feral launched in March 2024. The book deliberately inhabits a shared universe with Stray Dogs, and the full creative team — Fleecs on script, Forstner as lead artist, Tone Rodriguez on art, and Brad Simpson on colors — remained consistent from launch through issue #13 and beyond, giving the series an unusual visual coherence for a monthly ongoing. Fleecs has publicly noted that Arc 3 (beginning here) contains some of his favorite moments across the entire run, suggesting that issue #13 was a deliberate creative turning point the team had been building toward since the series' early issues.
