“Self-Evident Truths!”

The tagline "When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for… Clobberin' Time!" sets the tone perfectly for this wonderfully absurd cover, where the Thing — fists up, orange rocky hide unmistakable — is mid-brawl with a green-skinned figure in colonial-era clothing inside what appears to be a hall full of bewildered Founding Father-types clutching a document. Mark Bagley and Mark Farmer deliver a cover that blends Marvel muscle with American history in a way that's hard not to grin at. "Self-Evident Truths!" promises a story as audacious as its premise, and this 2013 Marvel NOW! issue looks like a genuinely fun ride.
