Fall of Cthulhu #7
In "The Gathering, Part 2 of 5: 'Happy Birthday'," Carol Stevens takes her son Jacob to a comic book store for his birthday, where a mysterious figure named Sysyphyx hands him a strange box promising superpowers—including flight. When Jacob returns home and opens it, his behavior grows increasingly erratic, culminating in a violent outburst that leaves his father unconscious beneath a strange cocoon. As the night unfolds, the full horror of the box’s gift begins to reveal itself, and a terrifying transformation takes hold. Written by Michael Alan Nelson and illustrated by Marco Rudy, with colors by Marc Rueda and letters by Marshall Dillon, this issue’s chilling tone is perfectly captured in the cover by Vatche Mavlian.
