Fairest #29
There's something quietly lovely about this Vertigo cover from 2014 — a young woman reclines on a hillside, lost in a bundle of letters or postcards she holds above her, while more correspondence and vivid autumn leaves scatter through the tall grass around her. Adam Hughes renders the scene in striking ink work, with the sparse color of red and orange leaves providing a warm, melancholy contrast to the otherwise monochrome landscape. "Sail Away: Chapter Three of The Clamour for Glamour" promises a story with that same bittersweet, reflective mood — brought to life inside by the creative team of Mark Buckingham, Russ Braun, and colorist Andrew Dalhouse.
