From Vertigo's Fairest comes this striking 2014 issue, its cover by Adam Hughes presenting a figure in formal attire tumbling helplessly — or perhaps soaring — through a pale, cloud-filled sky, the disorienting upside-down composition leaving you genuinely unsure which direction danger lies. The title logo cascades diagonally across the image in bold orange medallions, reinforcing that lovely sense of freefall.
