Fairest #30
This December 2014 Vertigo series spotlights a striking, long-haired woman in a flowing white dress commanding every eye on a busy street — passersby stop, stare, and mutter their admiration in speech bubbles that give the cover a playful, lived-in energy. The lower panels tease a narrator with a song stuck in their head and a charged reunion between two figures, one of whom is pointedly reminded that dragons are, by nature, fire-starters. With work from Buckingham, Braun, Dalhouse, and Major inside, and a beautifully rendered cover by Adam Hughes, "Five Rhymes and a Riddle" looks like a rich fourth chapter in The Clamour for Glamour arc.
