Fairest #25
Three anthropomorphic mice — one leaning on a cane, one clutching a walking stick, one seemingly wide-eyed and uncertain — huddle at the feet of a tall, sunglasses-wearing woman gripping a shotgun, and Adam Hughes' cover art makes the scale contrast between the two feel genuinely charged. This is "Of Men and Mice, Part Four: Mousetrap," and the title alone hints that the tension between this armed figure and her tiny companions is about to snap. Marc Andreyko and Shawn McManus bring their arc to its penultimate stretch in this June 2014 Vertigo issue, and the cover promises something delightfully strange is at stake.
