Fables #60

Few images in 2007 Vertigo comics carry as much quiet dignity as James Jean's painted cover for Fables #60 — a bearded man in an orange janitor's jumpsuit, head bowed, methodically mopping a corridor beside a blue "Caution: Wet Floor" bucket. The arc launching here, "The Good Prince," promises something stirring from the team of Bill Willingham, Mark Buckingham, and Steve Leialoha, and that tension between humble labor and the regal title is already doing fascinating work before you turn a single page.
