Fables #55

This 2007 Vertigo entry in Bill Willingham's seven-time Eisner Award-winning series presents a striking cover by James Jean — a steely-eyed soldier in combat gear and helmet, rifle in hand, stands before ghostly swirls of an American flag, while a vivid red cloak draped in front hints at the fairy-tale world colliding with wartime imagery. The title "Sons of Empire Part Four: Over There" promises a chapter where the worlds of Fables and large-scale conflict press hard against each other. Rounding out the issue is a backup story by Iñaki Miranda, making this a particularly full package for fans of the series.
