This 2012 installment of Vertigo's long-running series arrives as part of the milestone "Celebrating 10 Years (2002–2012)" anniversary, and the cover by Joao Ruas sets a quietly haunting mood. Two brooding figures — a dark-haired woman with blood on her hand and a gaunt man turned away from her — stand back to back against a misty forest backdrop, while ghostly smaller figures, including a pale masked form and a wide-eyed child, loom between them. "Action Figures," the fourth chapter of the "Cubs in Toyland" arc, promises the atmospheric tension that Willingham, Buckingham, Leialoha, and McManus have made a hallmark of this series.
