The Exiles arrive at an earth that has recently been destroyed by the Silver Surfer just in time to see the Surfer kill members of the Super Guardians who were defending a weakened Galactus. Galactus taps into Blink's powers to send the Surfer far away. Manta, the only surviving Guardian, explains to the Exiles that the Surfer is trying to kill Galactus, the restorer of worlds, for not agreeing to give life back to his war-torn home world of Zenn-La. The Exiles are contacted by empress of the galaxy, Lilandra, as the Surfer races back for another confrontation.
