Exiles #3
This third volume of the original Exiles series collects issues #11–14 and a Marvel Team-Up Annual, as the reality-hopping team finds itself scattered across time and space. The Exiles must reunite to prevent a catastrophic paradox while facing alternate versions of familiar X-Men foes, including a dangerous encounter with the time-traveling villain Kang. Writer Judd Winick continues to explore the consequences of the team's mission to fix broken timelines, blending high-stakes adventure with character-driven drama.
In "Another Rooster in the Henhouse Part 1," the Exiles cross paths with the rogue time-traveling operatives of Weapon X, setting off a tense alliance on a ruined Earth. Blink reconnects with her former mentor Sabretooth from the Age of Apocalypse, while Nocturne grapples with a personal loss. Together, the teams confront Sentinels and rescue a powerful young boy named David Richards—only for the Tallus to deliver a chilling directive: Blink and Sabretooth are meant to kill him. Written by Judd Winick and illustrated by Mike McKone, with inks by Jon Holdredge and colors by Transparency Digital, the cover by Mike McKone and Mark McKenna captures the moment’s escalating dread.
In "Another Rooster in the Henhouse Part 1," the Exiles cross paths with Weapon X during a mission on a ruined Earth, where they team up to rescue a powerful young boy named David Richards from Sentinels. Amid the chaos, Blink reconnects with her former mentor Sabretooth from the Age of Apocalypse, while Nocturne grapples with a personal loss. As the teams prepare to jump, the Tallus delivers a chilling directive: Blink and Sabretooth are meant to kill David.
In "Another Rooster in the Henhouse Part 2," the Exiles face a brutal choice when they're ordered to kill a young boy named David Richards to enable their next jump. With Sabretooth turning against his former Weapon X allies to protect David, the line between hunter and guardian blurs—leading to a tense standoff and a surprising promise to raise the boy on a broken world, with Blink left to wonder if their paths will ever cross again.
In "I Cover the Waterfront Part One," the Exiles land in a reality where Dr. Doom’s Latveria faces invasion by Namor, forcing the team into a high-stakes mission. As Mimic stands on the edge of Castle Doom, he reflects on the echoes of his own past while the fate of an entire nation hangs in the balance.
In "Wild Life Reserve," the Exiles confront a twisted alternate Earth where Curt Connors’s lizard serum has transformed the west coast into a savage realm ruled by reptilian beings. With Blink and Mimic racing to stop Connors—now human again—from triggering a coastal nuke, the team faces a brutal moral reckoning over who deserves to survive.
In "So Lame: The Exiles in Mojoverse Part One," the team is thrust into the bizarre, hyper-stylized world of the Mojoverse after defeating Callisto. With Morph and Nocturne captured and TJ held hostage, Mojo forces Morph to star in a twisted TV show while the rest of the Exiles race to free Longshot from prison, hoping his unique connection to the Mojoverse might be their only way out.
In "So Lame: The Exiles in Mojoverse Part Two," Morph is trapped on Mojo TV, forced to perform to save Nocturne from torture, while TJ uses his wits to slip past Mojo’s bumbling soldiers and escape. With Longshot rescued and the team united, the Exiles stand against Mojo’s twisted reign—only for the Timebroker to intervene, halting Morph’s final strike and sending them back into the timestream to continue their mission across the multiverse.
