Exiles #1
This volume collects the first six issues of the 2002 Exiles series, launching the team of reality-hopping mutants from alternate dimensions. The story follows a new recruit, Mimic, as he joins characters like Blink and Morph on a mission to fix broken timelines, with the opening arc introducing their mysterious taskmaster, the Timebroker. The collection sets the stage for the team's ongoing adventures across the Marvel multiverse.
In "Down the Rabbit Hole," the Exiles—scattered across realities and united by the Timebroker—begin their first mission on a world where superhumans have been hunted to near extinction. Their task: rescue Charles Xavier, only to find him broken, unstable, and consumed by a rage that threatens to unravel the very world they’re trying to save.
In "Sins of the Father," the Exiles confront a twisted alternate reality where Charles Xavier wields immense power, forcing them to seek help from Forge to uncover the truth behind their mission. As they grapple with the consequences of their choices, the team makes a fateful decision that leads to sacrifice and a surprising new arrival. With their path altered, the Exiles are suddenly thrust into the grandeur and danger of the Shi'ar Empire, where they face the trial of Phoenix.
In "Old Wounds New Battles Part 1 of 2," the Exiles confront a twisted reality where Jean Grey, poised to become the Phoenix, faces trial for her impending galactic destruction. With Blink and the team caught between duty and morality, they prepare to fight alongside the Imperial Guard—while Mimic clashes with Wolverine in a brutal, personal showdown.
