“Long Live the King!”

Three formidable women stand their ground before a massive stone statue bearing Magneto's unmistakable helmet — a figure in green unleashing crackling energy from her hands takes center stage, flanked by a red-caped sorceress and a pink-clad fighter brandishing what appears to be an energy weapon. The cover art by Dave Bullock and Mark Irwin gives the whole scene a charged, cinematic feel that suits the dimension-hopping spirit of the Exiles perfectly. With Jeff Parker writing and Salva Espín on interior art, this 2009 Marvel series looks to be in very capable hands.

The new Exiles are on their first mission but arrive on Genosha too late to save Wolverine from Magneto. Polaris and the Witch infiltrate Magneto's forces by replacing his daughters (also Polaris and the Scarlet Witch) but they are sniffed out by Jean Grey and Magneto's X-Men.
