Exiles #1
This 2009 relaunch of Marvel's dimension-hopping team book hits the ground running with a cover by penciler Dave Bullock and inker Mark Irwin that's packed with energy — a dark-clad, clawed Wolverine variant lunges to the foreground while a green-costumed woman, a pink-haired fighter wielding glowing magenta energy blades, a red-dressed woman, a gunslinger with a fiery fist, and a snarling beast-like figure crowd the explosive background behind him. Writer Jeff Parker, artist Salva Espín, and colorist Anthony Washington bring this new incarnation of the Exiles to life, with the story "Deja Vu" promising the kind of reality-spanning adventure that defines the series. If you've been waiting for a great jumping-on point for Marvel's team of misfit multiversal travelers, issue #1 is exactly that.

Pulled from their home realities mere instants before their deaths, a new band of Exiles is formed and sent out by Morph to start saving worlds. For their first mission, the Tallus tells the team to help Wolverine overthrow Magneto but they find when they arrive that Wolverine is already dead and Magneto has a horde of super powered allies gathered around him on Genosha.
