Excalibur #7
This April 1989 tie-in to Marvel's Inferno crossover finds Excalibur in delightfully deranged territory, as the cover by Alan Davis and Paul Neary stages what can only be described as a demonic wedding gone gloriously wrong. A red-haired woman in a tattered bridal gown stands arm-in-arm with a grinning blue goblin in a top hat and bow tie, surrounded by a leering crowd of monsters and a large, lurking demon looming from the shadows — all set before what appears to be a church altar. The character portraits along the left spine remind you just how colorful Excalibur's roster is, making this chaotic, darkly comedic cover a wonderfully offbeat entry in the team's early run.
