Eternals #6
The penultimate chapter of Neil Gaiman and John Romita Jr.'s seven-part Eternals saga arrives with a striking Rick Berry cover that assembles four of Marvel's immortal beings in a charged, atmospheric composition — a golden-crowned figure crouching in the foreground, a red-and-white armored warrior lunging at center, a green-clad woman crackling with energy at her fingertips, and a teal-suited figure looming luminously above them all. The moody, painterly rendering gives the group a sense of barely contained power on the verge of something significant, perfectly suited to "Chapter Six: Modified Rapture." With one issue left to go, this is a fine moment to catch up on one of 2007's more thoughtfully crafted Marvel miniseries.
