About this Collection

This volume collects the early adventures of Dazzler, Marvel's disco-themed superheroine, reprinting Dazzler #1-21 and Marvel Graphic Novel #12 in black and white. It covers her origins as a mutant with the ability to convert sound into light, her struggles with fame, and her encounters with heroes like Spider-Man and the X-Men. Part of Marvel's Essential line, this thick trade paperback offers a budget-friendly way to experience her solo series from the early 1980s.

Dazzler makes her debut singing in a local disco and all of her super heroic friends come out to watch. It's a good thing, too, as a jealous Enchantress attacks. While the X-Men, Avengers and FF take care of Amora's goons, Ali takes down the Enchantress herself. With the heroes still in tow, Dazzler auditions for a music producer and is immediately signed.
