Subtitled "The Motherload," this 2014 Image Comics entry in Richard Starkings and Axel Medellin's Elephantmen series delivers a cover that is equal parts unsettling and mesmerizing. A massive teal-nailed hand dominates the foreground, reaching toward a biomechanical apparatus that holds tiny, grotesque hybrid-creature heads in compartmentalized trays — a green reptilian, a boar-like figure, and a pink fleshy form among them — while a rhino-humanoid figure sits confined in a separate chamber above, all rendered in an intricate style credited as "after Giger."
