Charlton's "All New E-Man" keeps the energy high with issue #4, cover-dated August 1974, and Joe Staton's cover pulls you right in: E-Man in his red-and-yellow costume surges forward alongside a red-haired woman in a green jacket, both swept up in a swirling vortex of sand, while a strange blue mechanical structure looms ominously in the background. The story title "City in the Sand!" splashed across the cover promises desert-bound adventure of the science-fiction variety. Nicola Cuti's scripting paired with Staton's energetic linework made this one of Charlton's more distinctive superhero offerings of the mid-1970s.
