About this Issue

DuckTales #2 (December 2024, Dynamite Entertainment) is the second chapter of the first new original comic project set in the classic 1987 Disney Afternoon continuity since Joe Books' Darkwing Duck was cancelled roughly seven years prior — a meaningful gap for fans of that animated universe. As part of the opening story arc 'Four Corners of Your World,' the issue continues establishing Dynamite's series as the fourth distinct American comic-book run based on the original DuckTales animated series, following earlier publications from Gladstone, Disney Comics, and Boom! Studios. Its dual-narrative format — running parallel present-day Duckburg adventures for the nephews alongside Scrooge's flashback exploits — self-consciously positions itself as a creative heir to Carl Barks and Don Rosa's tradition of duck-universe storytelling. The series' launch also marked the first all-ages Disney Afternoon comic from Dynamite following that publisher's prior work on Darkwing Duck and related properties.

In "Four Corners of Your World Part Two: The Phantom of the Scrooge-A-Rama-Dome!", Scrooge takes Huey, Dewey, and Louie on a tour of Duckburg, leading them to the grand Scrooge-A-Rama-Dome theater—only to uncover eerie mysteries lurking in its shadowed halls. Written by Brandon Montclare and brought to life by Tommasso Ronda’s dynamic art and Agnese Eterno’s vivid colors, this 2024 adventure blends classic charm with a touch of the uncanny. The cover by Ivan Bigarella captures the dome’s looming presence with striking precision.
