“Resolution”

Two figures locked in a white-knuckle struggle over a single blade — Dreadstar in blue and yellow facing off against a pale, bald adversary in purple — this cover by Jim Starlin captures a moment of raw, personal conflict that practically crackles off the page. The crimson-hazed background and the sword gripped between two straining pairs of hands make it immediately clear that "Resolution" promises something genuinely consequential. Epic Comics' 1984 sci-fi series was consistently ambitious, and issue #14 looks like no exception.
