Dread Gods #2

A scarred, bald figure wired into a command chair holds court at the center of this striking cover, while the monitors surrounding him blaze with the anguished, snarling faces of what can only be the titular Dread Gods themselves. Tom Raney's linework gives every expression a raw, almost overwhelming intensity, and Nanjan Jamberi's sickly green-gold palette makes the whole scene feel genuinely unsettling. Ron Marz and his collaborators are building something with serious mythological menace in this 2017 IDW/Ominous Press series, and issue #2 looks like a worthy next chapter.
