Dotty Dripple Comics #10

Buford Tune's cover for this February 1950 Harvey Comics entry says it all: young Dotty Dripple makes a perfectly reasoned case to her wide-eyed, pipe-smoking father that growing up means her allowance should jump from three comic books a week to five — and she's even brought a comic as exhibit A, with the family's spotted pup watching the negotiation from below. Also featuring Li'l Taffy, "America's Laugh-a-Second Family" delivers the kind of warm, domestic humor that made Tune's strip a household staple, and at ten cents, this is family comedy at its most cheerfully persuasive.
