“Baby Sitter”

America's Laugh-a-Second Family" is in fine form in this April 1950 Harvey Comics entry, with a cover by Buford Tune showing the household in classic domestic chaos — a lanky, exasperated man and an elegantly dressed blonde woman both holding numbered cards (4, 2, and 3 visible between them), while a barefoot kid clutches his own card right in the middle, all three standing outside the bathroom door marked "1." It's a wonderfully silly snapshot of family life that sets the tone perfectly for the "Baby Sitter" story inside, written and drawn by Paul McCarthy. Featuring Li'l Taffy alongside the Dripple family, this one delivers exactly the warm, goofy humor Harvey Comics fans adored.
