Doom Patrol #52
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeJamie Hewlett's cover for this 1992 DC mature-readers title is a swirling, psychedelic delight — a grinning dark-haired figure in layered bohemian clothing dominates the foreground, surrounded by a sea of pink hearts, while a grotesque green-faced specter looms menacingly from behind and a smaller cloaked figure with a mirrored face lingers to the left. The deliberately fragmented, hand-lettered logo and the warm, carnival palette give the whole thing an irresistible strangeness that feels perfectly at home in Grant Morrison's run. With Richard Case and Philip Bond on interior art, "After the Cabaret" promises the kind of beautifully weird storytelling that made this era of Doom Patrol so distinctive.
