Grant Morrison's Doom Patrol was pushing DC's "Suggested for Mature Readers" label to its limits by 1990, and this November issue makes that abundantly clear. Simon Bisley's cover is a visceral close-up of two grotesque, fang-filled creatures — all gaping maws, jagged teeth, and raw, bloodied flesh — erupting toward the viewer with unsettling ferocity. It's a genuinely striking piece of work that sets a tense, unsettling tone for the "Lost in Space" story within, brought to life by the interior team of Richard Case and Mark McKenna.
