Doom Patrol #16

This 2011 entry in DC's Doom Patrol brings a tense, atmospheric confrontation to its cover, penciled and inked by Matthew Clark. A woman in a red costume looks over her shoulder with blood at her lip, while a wild-haired, snarling figure lunges at her from above against a brooding city skyline — the threat feeling immediate and very personal. Written by Brian Keene and Keith Giffen, with art by Giffen and Al Milgrom, "Gazing into the Abyss" promises exactly the kind of dark, character-driven tension that made this era of the team so compelling.
