Doom Academy #2

History

The series was announced at the Women of Marvel Panel at New York Comic Con in October 2024, with Mackenzie Cadenhead — previously known for the Marvel Mutts prose project — scripting and veteran artist Pasqual Ferry providing the primary pencils and inks. Editor Nick Lowe, who had shepherded the original Strange Academy run, returned for oversight, and colorist Edgar Delgado and letterer Clayton Cowles — two pillars of that original series — were brought back to maintain visual continuity between the two eras of the school's history. For the fairy-tale-book sequences in issue #2 specifically, a second artist, João M.P. Lemos, was engaged to illustrate the internal world of the Arcana Latveriana, with Cadenhead crediting Lemos's deep research into Eastern European folklore as central to the look and feel of those pages.
