The road ends here — Doom 2099 #44 is the spectacular final issue of Marvel's far-future reimagining, and the cover by Jeff Lafferty and Brad Britz sends it off with authority. A steely, armored Doom strides forward in his distinctive green-hooded suit, claw-gauntlets at his sides, while ranks of armed soldiers and banner-bearers crowd the background on both sides — the tagline "Things to Come…" hanging in the air like an unresolved threat. Writer John Francis Moore's "Entangling Alliances" promises a fitting close to one of the 2099 line's most compelling titles.
