Gail Simone's Domino series hits its fourth chapter of "Killer Instinct" with a cover by Greg Land that balances tenderness and violence in equal measure — Domino and a male figure in a red-and-black suit hold each other close, gun raised, while wounded bodies lie strewn at their feet amid a neon-lit urban backdrop. It's a striking image that captures the push-and-pull at the heart of Domino's world: genuine human connection surrounded by very sharp, very dangerous edges. David Baldeón and Jesus Aburtov bring the interior pages to life, making this a strong entry in one of Marvel's most stylish solo titles of 2018.
