Doctor Strange #7 (457)
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeDoctor Strange #7 (legacy #457) is a chapter in the first sustained exploration of Strange as Sorcerer Supreme of Asgard rather than of Earth — a status quo shift that relocates the character's entire moral and magical landscape to the Norse cosmology. The issue deepens the ongoing partnership between Strange and Angela, a pairing that examines what happens when Marvel's preeminent mystic is stripped of his home dimension and must negotiate power through unfamiliar mythologies. Arriving as the seventh installment of a series designed from the outset to expand the Nine Realms through new character designs and new threats like the entity Downfall and the Enchantress, it marks a meaningful widening of the series' scope beyond the initial Alfheim arc. As legacy number 457, it also sits inside the continuous through-line Marvel has maintained from Strange Tales Vol. 1 #1 — a numbering tradition that underscores Strange's unbroken publishing history across more than six decades.

The 2025 ongoing series was launched by writer Derek Landy and artist Ivan Fiorelli on December 3, 2025, building directly on Landy's prior Doctor Strange of Asgard miniseries and on the events of Al Ewing and Pasqual Ferry's Mortal Thor run, in which the Rainbow Bridge connecting Asgard to Midgard was destroyed. A September 2025 giant-size one-shot, Doctor Strange #450, served as a formal prelude, debuting Strange's redesigned costume created by artist Geoff Shaw. Fiorelli has noted that the series gave him the opportunity to design entirely new characters for the Marvel Universe, working alongside colorist Dono Sánchez-Almara and letterer Cory Petit, with Alanna Smith serving as editor.
