Doctor Strange #55
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe Sorcerer Supreme looks genuinely beleaguered on Michael Golden's striking cover for this October 1982 issue, as Doctor Strange — cloak billowing dramatically against a turbulent green and black void — faces a writhing swarm of golden demonic creatures clawing and coiling around him from every direction. Golden's linework gives the monsters a wonderfully unsettling organic quality, their horned, tentacled forms pressing in relentlessly while Strange raises a gloved hand in determined defiance. With Roger Stern writing and Terry Austin inking Golden's pencils inside, this is a strong example of the series firing on all cylinders in the early 1980s.
