Titled "Thunder of the Soul!" right on its banner, this August 1979 issue presents a striking cover by Gene Colan with inks by Bob Wiacek and Dan Green — a stormy, lightning-cracked sky where a ghostly, nearly translucent spectral figure looms dramatically above a yellow aircraft, while two passengers peer out from the cockpit below, unaware or unsettled by the supernatural presence above them. The eerie blue atmosphere and jagged yellow lightning give the whole composition a genuinely unsettling mystical charge that feels right at home in Doctor Strange's world of sorcery and the unknown. With Roger Stern, Ralph Macchio, and Gene Colan all contributing to the interior, this is a late-'70s Marvel supernatural title firing on all cylinders.
