Doctor Strange #2
Doctor Strange #2 finds Marvel's Sorcerer Supreme in a thoroughly unsettling situation — coiled in the crushing grip of a massive black-and-white striped serpentine creature while wielding what appears to be a mace against it, all rendered with kinetic energy by cover penciler Chris Bachalo and inker Tim Townsend. Grounding the otherworldly chaos is a wonderfully mundane refrigerator adorned with colorful letter magnets spelling out the creative team's names — a playful touch that somehow makes the cosmic dread feel even stranger. Jason Aaron and Bachalo's 2016 series already has a distinctive personality, blending the bizarre and the everyday in ways that feel genuinely inventive.
