Doctor Spektor: Master of the Occult #4

Dynamite's 2014 revival of the Gold Key occult hero reaches its fourth installment, and Christian Ward's cover makes a striking case for Doctor Spektor's power — the dark-haired occultist stands arms outstretched at the center of a swirling vortex of light and shattered imagery, his shirt torn open as crackling energy radiates outward in every direction. It's a visually arresting image that captures a man either commanding tremendous supernatural forces or being torn apart by them — possibly both. Mark Waid scripts alongside artist Roberto Castro for what promises to be a suitably strange and unpredictable chapter in this modern take on the Master of the Occult.
